Help us change the lives of 10,000 incarcerated Muslims across the country!
Background
We are a registered 501(c)(3) religious non-profit based in California aimed at transforming the lives of incarcerated men and women across the United States. We use an innovative rehabilitation model of personalized engagement, Islamic spiritual knowledge, mentoring, and access to college-level education to positively transform lives both in prison and reentering back into society. Our program has reached close to 2,000 people in over 30 states since we started in 2010. Recently our work was featured in the Los Angeles Times (link).
Proposal: HELP BRING DIVINE LOVE INTO PRISONS!
We recently teamed up with a local Muslim author to design an Islamic personal development course specifically for incarcerated Muslims based on her international best-selling book "Secrets of Divine Love" called "Walking the Path of Love". The course seeks to improve the student's spirituality and relationship with Allah through studying His divine names and attributes as well as their relationship with others. Students are also evaluated to document how their views of religion and God have changed before and after the course.
The course recently launched the first group of 100 students. Our hope is to raise $10,000 to expand the course to another 100 incarcerated students. Funds would be used primarily for printing course material, shipping/mailing expenses and utilizing a teaching assistant to review and provide feedback for each completed course.
